After our win over Bristol City last Friday night, Monday represented an excellent opportunity of our first back-to-back wins of the season. With twenty or so minutes remaining and Town on top at 1-1, there looked like only one winner.
But with Mick McCarthy in charge, you can never remain too hopeful for long as seemingly, it looked for all the world that he wanted to protect the possibility of gaining a solitary point. I won’t dwell here on what happened next as we all know exactly what happened.
So onto Saturday and the FA Cup tie at home to Lincoln City. I really do fear the worst here and should we lose, will that be enough to see a managerial change? I highly doubt it! It would be interesting too to see the views of the current Mick ‘inners’ should we lose. Fuller Flavour – 2 January 2017 Our club is in a state, and there’s nothing anyone can do about it…..Who could be modern-day movie stars?…..and Town earn redemption at Vale Park after previous hammering.*
*Each week, the Fuller Flavour in the East Anglian Daily Times and Ipswich Star looks back at games in chronological order of the 1991/92 season as I celebrate 25 years of Town winning the Second Division Championship.
