Why Ipswich Town SHOULD be considered as play-off candidates…

Last Saturday’s game against Preston was hardly the most entertaining affair you’ll ever see at Portman Road and the visitors were well worthy of their replay chance, a game in all honesty we could do without.  I thought that we made too many changes to the starting line-up and Mick McCarthy admitted this afterwards.  But he was right that he has to give his fringe players a game sometime, it’s a shame they didn’t make more of an effort to take their chance!

Tomorrow we host QPR and this will be a real test of our side – a side that cost around £250,000 against The R’s who cost around… well, many, many, many more times that figure and they have Joey Barton for us to look forward to seeing too.

The stories in this week’s column are:

Can we finish in the play-offs? – I actually think it’s possible…..History doesn’t bode well for Deepdale…..and Tickets selling fast.
