Last Saturday’s draw at Birmingham probably summed up our short season so far. Hard to beat, but hard to find a win too. I guess that we should be grateful that we did not lose but after the excellent first-half that we had, you kind of new that without adding the killer second goal, we would be punished with an equaliser and that’s how it proved to be.
A little bit worrying that we only took one point out of six against Leeds and Birmingham pre international break, especially as the same two games last term yielded six points and we had a struggling season last time around!
Onto this week’s column and one of the great pleasures in writing this column has been getting to talk to some great people, and this week I’ve been lucky enough to talk to two….
Wembley and Lords were both graced by our Mick…..I would not have swapped experiences for anything…..and Painter agrees to sign up as Academy Friend.

Just to let those of you know that have asked why the column has not appeared in the Ipswich Star for the last couple of Monday’s, this is purely down to lack of page space and for a guaranteed newspaper read, please buy the East Anglian Daily Times every Monday. Despite no Town game this weekend, I’ll still have a column in there this Monday 🙂
Finally, please don’t forget that you are always welcome to contribute to the column (Contact Karl is the link above to get in touch) and I am extremely grateful to Archant Suffolk for their permission in reproducing this column. Happy reading and COYB!
